The city’s music temple is the San Carlo opera house, which merits a complete and exhaustive visit. After crossing piazza Municipio, we will reach the “Pietà dei Turchini” church, once the city’s old music conservatory, in via Medina. We will then reach piazza del Gesù where, according to some, music notations have been engraved in the church’s peculiar stonework façade. We will then walk along via San Sebastiano, today’s music street, which hosts dozens of music shops and artisan workshops. We will then visit the church and the conservatory of San Pietro a Majella, where many maestros have risen to fame, from Alessandro Scarlatti to Riccardo Muti. Our experience will end with a visit to a luthier’s workshop. For those who wish to, we will organise an aperitif or a lunch/dinner in an exclusive location (on a fixed-price basis). |
