Naples was until 1860 a European capital and prided itself on its achievements in several fields, a fact that remains visible until today in some of the monuments we are going to visit. Your itinerary begins in Piazza del Plebiscito. There, you will see its classic semi-circular colonnade of the Basilica San Francesco di Paola basilica and the equestrian statues sculpted to celebrate the kings of Naples of Borbone dynasty. You will visit the Royal Palace, San Carlo Theatre and Galleria Umberto. Afterwards, you will reach via Toledo where you will admire the Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano.
You will proceed towards piazza Municipio where the church San Giacono dei Nobili Spagnoli is close to medieval church of Santa Maria Incoronata. The tour will end with the visit of and Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino). If you want -to be indicated in the request -you can extend the tour to a lunch\dinner in a traditional pizzeria (prices will be pre-arranged) or an aperif at Gambrinus, the oldest traditional cafe in Naples. |
